Operating Room Technician in Pelham, AL

Key Qualifications:

• Experience as a Nursing - ORT, Surgical Technologist (Certified or Non-certified)
• Knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile technique, and aseptic practice
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and maintain efficiency in the operating room
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia staff
• Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety protocols
• Current certification (if applicable) as a Surgical Technologist preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Assist surgical team members during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
• Maintain a sterile field throughout the operation and enforce infection control protocols
• Count supplies, instruments, and sponges before and after procedures to ensure accuracy
• Support preoperative and postoperative room turnover, restocking, and equipment sterilization
• Collaborate closely with the operating room team for optimal patient outcomes
