Seeking a skilled professional with experience in Nursing - ORT or as a Certified Surgical Technologist for a contract role supporting a busy main operating room. The assignment offers a dynamic environment within a large teaching hospital recognized as a Level 1 Trauma Center and a designated Chest Pain & Stroke Center.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • 40 hours per week
  • On-call rotation: 6-9 call shifts per month, including weekends and holidays

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience for general operating room assignments; 5 years required for cardiovascular operating room (CVOR)
  • Graduation from an accredited program (Certified Surgical Technologist preferred)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Will consider highly-qualified first-time travelers, depending on background
  • Strong skills in a full range of surgical cases discussed further during the interview process

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in diverse surgical procedures including general surgery (GYN, plastics, ENT, robotics, colorectal), orthopedics, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular surgeries
  • Maintain a sterile environment and comply with hospital policies and surgical best practices
  • Support all surgical cases as required
  • Utilize EPIC Optime (Intraop), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Philips monitors
  • Participate in on-call and weekend/holiday rotations as scheduled
  • Engage in a collaborative team culture focused on safety, inclusion, and exceptional patient care
