Seeking a skilled professional with experience in Nursing - ORT or as a Certified Surgical Technologist for a contract role supporting a busy main operating room. The assignment offers a dynamic environment within a large teaching hospital recognized as a Level 1 Trauma Center and a designated Chest Pain & Stroke Center.
Schedule/Hours:
- 10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- 40 hours per week
- On-call rotation: 6-9 call shifts per month, including weekends and holidays
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience for general operating room assignments; 5 years required for cardiovascular operating room (CVOR)
- Graduation from an accredited program (Certified Surgical Technologist preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Will consider highly-qualified first-time travelers, depending on background
- Strong skills in a full range of surgical cases discussed further during the interview process
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in diverse surgical procedures including general surgery (GYN, plastics, ENT, robotics, colorectal), orthopedics, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular surgeries
- Maintain a sterile environment and comply with hospital policies and surgical best practices
- Support all surgical cases as required
- Utilize EPIC Optime (Intraop), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Philips monitors
- Participate in on-call and weekend/holiday rotations as scheduled
- Engage in a collaborative team culture focused on safety, inclusion, and exceptional patient care
