Operating Room Technician | Pike Road, Alabama

Seeking experienced surgical professionals to support operating room excellence. This contract position requires specialized expertise in Nursing – ORT, as well as Surgical Technologist roles, both certified and non-certified, to ensure optimal surgical care for patients.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or nursing training (ORT).
• Current certification for Surgical Technologist preferred, but non-certified professionals with strong skills will be considered.
• Experience in an operating room setting is essential.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and standard procedures.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organization abilities.
• Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Schedule/Hours:

• Flexible scheduling with shifts assigned to meet operating room needs.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing operating rooms for surgeries, including sterilization and arranging necessary instruments.
• Support surgical teams by handing instruments, sponges, and other materials during procedures.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols.
• Monitor equipment and ensure all instruments are functioning properly prior to procedures.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists before, during, and after surgeries.
• Help with patient positioning and preparation, contributing to smooth workflow and patient comfort.
• Document relevant information and maintain accurate surgical logs as required.
