Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or relevant nursing ORT training
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred, but non-certified candidates with demonstrable expertise are welcome
- Previous experience assisting in surgical procedures within hospital or ambulatory settings
- Strong understanding of operating room protocols, sterilization procedures, and instrument handling
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to anticipate the needs of both surgical staff and patients
- Proven ability to communicate clearly, prioritize in fast-paced environments, and maintain strict patient confidentiality
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare operating rooms, including the layout of instruments, supplies, and equipment for scheduled procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, holding retractors, and maintaining a sterile environment
- Monitor and address equipment functionality, reporting any issues promptly to avoid procedural delays
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards and hospital policies throughout surgical processes
- Accurately count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure safety
- Provide patient care support before, during, and after procedures as directed by the surgical or nursing team

$1,620 - $1,763/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
