Travel Operating Room Technician in Portland, ME

Working in a bustling, high-acuity operating room within a respected healthcare facility, you’ll gain hands-on experience with leading-edge surgical technology (including Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Robot systems) and collaborate with expert teams in a Level 1 trauma setting. Schedule/Hours:

• 3x12 hour day shifts (7a-7p)
• Weekend rotation: 1 in 4 weekends (12-hour shifts)
• One overnight trauma call (11p-7a), with potential for additional calls based on specialty teams
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 48 preferred, 36 acceptable

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of surgical tech or ORT experience
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma operating room is essential
• Exposure to Epic EMR preferred
• Flexible, accountable, punctual, and collaborative mindset

Preferred Experience:

• General, GU/GYN, Ortho trauma/joints, Neurosurgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Plastics, Dental, Endovascular

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment
• Assist surgeons during operative procedures across multiple specialties
• Handle and troubleshoot advanced surgical equipment
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Adhere to hospital protocols, ensuring patient safety and quality compliance
