Surgical Tech in Portland, OR

An excellent opportunity is available for a certified Surgical Technician with specialized experience in the operating room (ORT) setting. This assignment offers you the chance to work in a dynamic healthcare environment where your expertise will support an outstanding surgical team.

Schedule/Hours:

• 10-hour day shifts, 6:45am – 5:15pm
• Specific days to be discussed during the interview

Qualifications:

• Active Surgical Tech Certification required
• Minimum of two years’ operating room experience
• Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
• Proficiency in a variety of surgical cases and familiarity with aseptic techniques
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and sterile processing staff
• Attention to detail and capacity to remain calm in urgent situations

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms and ensure sterile conditions are maintained
• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
• Verify and arrange sterile supplies and instruments prior to surgery
• Monitor and count instruments, sponges, and sharps before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Perform post-procedure clean up and assist with transport of patients as needed
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
• Complete necessary documentation accurately and promptly
