Operating Room Technician | Prattville, Alabama

A leading healthcare facility seeks a skilled professional with experience in perioperative procedures to support their surgical team on a contract basis. This opportunity is open to applicants with backgrounds as Operating Room Technicians (ORT) or Surgical Technologists, whether certified or non-certified. Your expertise will ensure high standards of care and efficient operations throughout the surgical process.

Key Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent experience
• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist is welcomed but not required
• Proficiency in sterile technique and aseptic practices
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team in fast-paced environments
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Previous experience in an operating room setting preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during operative procedures
• Prepare operating rooms and ensure instruments and equipment are sterile and functional
• Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and assist with their organization and restocking
• Adhere strictly to all safety and infection control protocols
• Provide immediate response to emergency situations and adapt to changing priorities
• Support patient care throughout the perioperative process, including transferring, positioning, and assisting with transport as needed
