Qualifications:
- Valid national certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- Demonstrated experience in perioperative nursing or surgical technology, preferably in an acute care or hospital setting
- Comprehensive understanding of aseptic technique and infection control standards
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to anticipate surgeon and team needs
- Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or willingness to obtain before employment
Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all required equipment and supplies are sterile and ready
- Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses during operations by passing instruments and supplies, maintaining a sterile field
- Accurately account for surgical instruments, sharps, and sponges during and after procedures
- Support patient safety by adhering to all facility protocols and safety guidelines
- Participate in pre-operative and post-operative room setup, breakdown, and cleaning
- Communicate actively with the surgical team to facilitate efficient workflow and optimal patient outcomes
