Qualifications and Required Experience:

• Active certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credentials for ORT
• Proven experience assisting in operating room procedures across various specialties
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instrumentation, and operating room protocols
• Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons and surgical staff
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by setting up sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
• Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment
• Count and document surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies to ensure accuracy before and after procedures
• Monitor patient and operating room safety, reporting concerns promptly
• Handle and care for surgical specimens appropriately
• Maintain accurate records and uphold stringent infection control measures
• Support overall OR flow, stocking supplies, and ensuring readiness for upcoming cases
