Embark on an exciting opportunity to assist in surgical procedures as a certified Surgical Technologist or ORT on a contract basis. This position is crucial in supporting physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during operations, ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.

Qualifications and Required Experience:

  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or experience as an Operating Room Technician (ORT)
  • Demonstrated understanding of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and sterile field maintenance
  • Previous experience assisting in surgical procedures
  • Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
  • Effective communicator with strong teamwork skills
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to facility policies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to procedures
  • Assist in positioning and draping patients, maintaining a sterile environment at all times
  • Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during operations
  • Monitor and maintain sterility, immediately correcting breaks in protocol
  • Handle and care for surgical specimens as directed
  • Perform instrument counts with nursing staff before and after procedures
  • Clean and restock operating rooms for subsequent cases
  • Document procedures and supply usage accurately
