Key Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or licensure as an ORT Nurse
• Recent experience supporting operating room procedures
• Comprehensive knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical instrumentation
• Ability to anticipate needs of surgeons during various procedures
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
• BLS certification (required); additional certifications are a plus

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms for surgeries, ensuring proper sterilization and arrangement of instruments and equipment
• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and maintaining a sterile field
• Accurately count instruments and supplies pre- and post-procedure to ensure safety
• Support patient care by verifying identity and surgical site, and monitoring vital signs as needed
• Maintain accurate records of procedures, equipment usage, and inventory levels
• Adhere strictly to infection control practices and facility protocols
• Collaborate with surgical and post-operative care teams to facilitate excellent patient outcomes
