Key Qualifications:
- Active certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- Demonstrated experience as an ORT or in an Operating Room environment
- Strong knowledge of surgical aseptic technique and infection control practices
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to anticipate surgical team needs, respond quickly in high-pressure situations, and adapt to changing demands
Role Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain operating rooms for surgery, including setting up instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff by passing instruments and supplies during procedures
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure accurate inventory
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere strictly to infection control procedures
- Handle specimens properly and document with accuracy
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to support optimal patient outcomes
