Step into a vital role within an advanced operating room suite, where you'll provide essential patient care and support daily surgical activity. This contract position is ideal for a skilled professional with expertise in operating room technology and a strong background in orthopedic, neuro, and robotic procedures.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 10:30 AM start time
  • Two shifts scheduled every other weekend
  • On-call requirements: 12-hour weekend and 20-hour weekday on-call over four weeks, with a 30-minute response time
  • Weekend call in addition to regular weekend shifts
  • Up to one shift per pay period may be canceled without pay

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience as a Surgical Technologist (Certified or Non-certified), ORT, or equivalent nursing ORT role
  • Proven ability performing in orthopedic, neuro, and robotic procedures
  • Familiarity with operating room regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, TB testing, and compliance training
  • Meticulous with surgical counts and infection control standards
  • Swift responder—able to arrive within 30 minutes when on-call
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and proactively fulfill responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver quality perioperative patient care by anticipating procedural needs
  • Accurately pick cases, prepare necessary instruments, and follow surgeon’s preference cards
  • Perform and document thorough surgical counts; ensure compliance with all count policies
  • Communicate and document critical data before patients leave the operating room
  • Address challenges independently and suggest quality or cost-saving improvements
  • Maintain all required certifications and regulatory credentials as scheduled
  • Actively participate in staff education initiatives and department process improvements
