Key Qualifications:

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Previous experience in an operating room or surgical setting highly preferred
• Solid grasp of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and safety protocols
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and function calmly in fast-paced environments
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures, ensuring proper instrumentation and equipment setup
• Assist surgeons and the surgical team during operations by passing instruments, supplies, and maintaining precise technique
• Perform instrument and sponge counts according to facility policies to ensure patient safety
• Ensure accurate documentation and safe handling of specimens
• Adhere to standard infection control and safety guidelines at all times
• Contribute proactively to a supportive, collaborative operative environment
