Step into an essential surgical support role as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a dynamic and collaborative operating room environment. Under the guidance of Registered Nurses and experienced surgical team members, you’ll play a critical part in preparing for procedures, managing equipment, and supporting both patient care and overall surgical team effectiveness throughout each shift.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract position, schedule details provided during interview.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (Certified Surgical Tech).
  • Strong understanding of general surgical procedures.
  • Experience scrubbing, preparing, and setting up the operating room for a variety of surgeries.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons and team members.
  • Knowledge of infection control, safety standards, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Effective communicator, able to maintain confidentiality and provide sensitive support to patients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a surgical care team and support emergent situations.
  • Prior experience with patient prep, patient transport, and supply management is valued.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Scrub and assist with general surgical procedures; ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are readily available and functional.
  • Prepare operating rooms before procedures, making equipment checks and setting up according to specific surgery requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, organized operating room by cleaning, restocking, and managing equipment post-procedure.
  • Support registered nurses with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges from the operating room.
  • Deliver supplies and assist with inventory management to keep the OR running efficiently.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in department-focused educational programs and initiatives.
  • Assist in training and orienting new surgical tech team members as needed.
