Operating Room Technician in Summerville, SC

Key Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) and/or Operating Room Technician (ORT) required
• Proven experience assisting with various surgical procedures in a hospital or surgical center setting
• In-depth understanding of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operative workflows
• Ability to anticipate surgeon’s needs and respond swiftly in a dynamic operating room environment
• Solid proficiency in setting up and maintaining sterile fields and handling sutures, sponges, and surgical equipment
• Exceptional teamwork and communication skills with nursing, surgical, and anesthesia staff
• Flexibility, reliability, and composure under pressure in fast-paced clinical settings

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms and ensure all equipment is properly sterilized and available
• Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field
• Monitor and account for surgical instruments and supplies throughout procedures
• Ensure patient safety by adhering to all infection control and operating room protocols
• Assist in postoperative cleanup and restocking of surgical suites
