Expand your career as a key member of a dynamic operating room team in a state-of-the-art, level 1 trauma and teaching hospital. This is a contract opportunity for an experienced Surgical Technologist or Operating Room Technician (ORT), ideal for professionals skilled in general, orthopedic, neuro, and cardiovascular surgeries. Work in a collaborative environment where patient safety and teamwork are top priorities.
Schedule/Hours:
- 10-hour day shifts: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week
- 6 to 9 on-call shifts per month, including holiday and weekend call rotation
- 6-week scheduling cycle
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a general operating room; 5+ years for cardiovascular OR
- National certification (CST) preferred; graduation from an accredited program required
- BLS certification required
- Experience with EPIC Optime, Alaris IV Pumps, Pyxis, and Phillips Monitors is a plus
- Proficiency in various surgical specialties, including GYN, orthopedics, neuro, cardiac, and robotics
- Willingness to participate in call rotation and holiday coverage
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ORs and ensure all necessary equipment and instruments are available
- Support surgical teams across a wide range of cases: general, ortho (including sports medicine and trauma), neurospine, plastics, cardiovascular, and more
- Adhere to safety and quality standards in a high-acuity environment
- Collaborate with nursing and surgical teams to deliver exceptional patient care
- Participate in a one-week hospital orientation and ongoing in-unit training as needed
