Operating Room Technician in Waukesha, WI

We're seeking an experienced professional with expertise in Nursing (Operating Room Technician) and Certified Surgical Technology to join a dedicated surgical team on a contract basis.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• Experience as an Operating Room Technician (ORT), with a strong grasp of perioperative protocols
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Previous exposure to a fast-paced surgical setting, with the ability to anticipate needs of surgical teams
• Strong attention to detail with knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile techniques
• Solid organizational and communication skills
• Ability to function well as part of a team, maintaining collaborative relationships with nurses, surgeons, and physicians

Responsibilities:

• Set up operating rooms with necessary equipment, instruments, and sterile supplies
• Assist surgeons and circulating nurses before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Maintain strict adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques at all times
• Ensure correct instrument counts and proper handling of surgical specimens
• Monitor and respond to the needs of the surgical team to keep procedures running smoothly
• Maintain accurate documentation as required
• Contribute to the overall safety and efficiency of the perioperative environment
