Operating Room Technician - Wetumpka, Alabama

Schedule/Hours:

• Variable shifts, including day and evening hours
• Some weekdays and weekends may be required to meet surgical schedules

Qualifications:

• Experience as an Operating Room Tech (ORT), Surgical Technologist—either certified or non-certified
• Proven knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical instrumentation
• Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons and adaptable in urgent situations
• Proficiency in organizing and preparing surgical suites according to procedure requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred but not mandatory

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies
• Maintain the sterile field and adhere to strict infection control protocols
• Account for all surgical instruments and materials before, during, and after procedures
• Support patient safety initiatives and contribute to a positive perioperative environment
• Participate in the cleaning and restocking of operating rooms in preparation for subsequent procedures
