An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse skilled in cardiac catheterization procedures to support invasive cardiovascular care. This contract role offers a 4-day workweek with 10-hour shifts and requires weekend availability. On-call duties are shared, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a 30-minute response expectation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and patient care support during cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures.
- Assist physicians with radiological imaging and maintain sterile fields as a scrub assistant.
- Operate imaging equipment and document procedural images and events in the control room.
- Educate patients and their families on procedure expectations, pre- and post-procedure care.
- Maintain cleanliness and order within the unit, ensuring adequate stock for interventions.
- Accurately complete documentation including daily notes, progress, and discharge details.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives by identifying potential hazards and recommending process enhancements.
- Uphold organizational mission, vision, values, and service standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active RN license (single state or compact).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in cardiac catheterization or related nursing.
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA-approved) required.
- Ability to respond within 30 minutes when on-call.
