Schedule & Hours

  • 7:00am – 5:30pm, four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Call required after one week of orientation: 12-15 days per 6-week schedule (including two weekends)
  • Weekday On-Call: 5:30am – 7:00am; Weekend On-Call: 7:00am – 7:00am (24-hour)
  • Parking: Offsite parking with shuttle service

Role Highlights Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced pediatric cardiac catheterization lab, providing specialized care to neonates through adolescents with congenital heart disease. This pivotal role includes:

  • Reviewing patient information, allergies, current medications, and consent forms
  • Preparing procedure rooms with medications, equipment, and emergency supplies
  • Independently maintaining sterile technique in circulating and scrub nurse roles
  • Assisting during diagnostic, interventional, biopsy, and electrophysiology procedures
  • Collaborating expertly with physicians, anesthesia, APPs, and technologists
  • Operating point-of-care testing and administering contrast safely
  • Recognizing/responding effectively to emergent situations
  • Supporting critically ill pediatric patients for optimal outcomes

Qualifications

  • Active PA State Board approved RN license
  • Pediatric or Cath Lab nursing experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of congenital heart disease and advanced assessment skills
  • Experience caring for critically ill pediatric populations, including neonates
  • BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required
  • Comfortable with both circulating and scrubbing responsibilities
