Schedule/Hours

  • 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (7:00am–5:30pm)
  • Call required after 1 week of orientation: 12–15 days per 6-week period, including 2 weekends (call: weekdays 5:30am–7:00am, weekends 7:00am–7:00am)

Key Responsibilities

  • Review patient records, allergies, medications, and consent forms
  • Prepare cath lab rooms with all necessary medications and equipment, ensuring emergency preparedness
  • Circulate and scrub during diagnostic, interventional, biopsy, and electrophysiology procedures
  • Maintain strict sterile technique throughout procedures
  • Operate point-of-care testing equipment and administer contrast as directed
  • Recognize/respond promptly to emergencies
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, anesthesia, APPs, technologists, and team members
  • Deliver care to critically ill neonates through adolescents; specialized knowledge of congenital heart disease is preferred

Qualifications

  • Active PA State Board RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • Pediatric cardiac or congenital heart disease experience highly valued
  • Advanced assessment skills and experience with critically ill pediatric patients ideal
