Registered Nurse - Catheterization Lab - Ithaca, New York

Qualifications:

• Current, valid RN license
• Minimum of one year of recent Cath Lab nursing experience
• Proficiency with cardiac catheterization procedures, equipment, and sterile technique
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication abilities
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization and electrophysiological procedures
• Monitor and assess patients’ condition throughout procedures
• Scrub, circulate, and document during invasive cardiology cases as directed by physicians
• Administer medications and IV therapies in accordance with provider orders
• Anticipate the needs of the catheterization team and respond rapidly to emergent situations
• Ensure accurate documentation and maintain complete patient records
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery, and post-procedure care
• Follow all infection control protocols and maintain a safe, clean work area
