Take on a high-acuity Pediatric CVICU assignment in Charlotte, NC at a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospital. This is a strong fit for an experienced Pediatric Cardiac ICU nurse who is comfortable caring for complex congenital cardiac patients and advanced mechanical support devices.

• 13-week travel assignment

• 36 hours per week

• 3x12-hour night shifts

• Shift: 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

• No on-call requirement

• Weekend rotation: approximately 3–4 weekends per 6-week schedule

• Holiday rotation required

• First-time travelers accepted

• Free parking

Unit Details

• 20-bed Pediatric CVICU

• Very high-acuity patient population

• Ages newborn through 18

• RN ratios vary by acuity: 2:1, 1:1, or 1:2

• Level I Pediatric Trauma Center

• Teaching hospital

• 24/7 cardiologist, intensivist, respiratory therapy, and additional clinical support

Patient Population

Nurses may care for patients with:

• Congenital heart conditions

• Fresh open-heart postoperative care

• Pre- and post-transplant needs

• Post-cardiac catheterization care

• Ventricular assist devices

• ECMO

• Impella

• Dialysis

• Aquadex renal replacement therapy

Requirements

• Active RN license permitting practice in North Carolina

• Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience in a comparable high-acuity setting

• BLS

• PALS

• NIHSS

• Recent fresh open-heart postoperative experience

• Transplant experience

• ECMO experience

• Impella experience

• Aquadex or comparable renal replacement therapy experience

• Epic experience required

• Must be comfortable floating within scope to PICU, NICU, and General Pediatrics as needed
