Registered Nurse - CVICU - Chatham, IL

An excellent opportunity awaits a dedicated RN with experience in Cardiovascular Intensive Care to provide patient-centered care within a dynamic CVICU environment. This contract position requires strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and a passion for cardiovascular care. Candidates will collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver the highest level of patient support, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and evidence-based practices.

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency with cardiac monitoring, ventilator management, and vasoactive medication administration
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and team members
• Ability to thrive in high-acuity, fast-paced clinical settings

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care for critically ill cardiovascular patients, including post-operative and acute cases
• Conduct ongoing patient assessments and adapt plans of care based on changing clinical status
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond efficiently to emergent situations
• Coordinate with the healthcare team regarding patient goals, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary care
• Document patient information clearly and accurately in the electronic medical record
• Promote a culture of safety and excellence in patient care at all times
