Embark on your next nursing assignment specializing in CVICU care with an opportunity to deliver exceptional patient outcomes in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. This contract role offers exposure to a nationally recognized teaching hospital featuring a Trauma Level III center, advanced cardiac services, and a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour night shifts (1845 – 0715)
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Expectation to work 75% of holidays
- Schedule cycle updates every 6 weeks
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Critical Care
- Proficiency in administering vasoactive medications, managing ventilators, CRRT, various surgical drains, and chest tubes
- Advanced skill with invasive lines and devices, such as arterial lines, PA catheters, and transvenous pacemakers; experience with IABP/Impella preferred
- Experience with EMR (Epic), Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitoring
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and deliver direct nursing care to critically ill cardiac and surgical patients
- Interpret and respond to complex clinical information, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes
- Collaborate closely with intensivists, respiratory therapists, and IV/VAT teams (all available 24/7)
- Float as needed within regional facilities, remaining within defined scope of practice
- Maintain continuity of care and documentation throughout any floating shifts
