(RN) Registered Nurse - CVICU | Lincoln, Illinois

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in CVICU care to make a difference within a dynamic healthcare environment. This contract role is ideal for RNs with a passion for delivering advanced cardiac care and collaborating closely with an expert multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications:

• Current and unrestricted RN license
• Minimum of 1 year of recent CVICU nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to respond to rapidly changing patient conditions with calm efficiency

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-acuity, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill cardiac and vascular patients
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, cardiac rhythms, and vital signs
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage advanced cardiac devices as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and allied health staff to create and implement individualized patient care plans
• Advocate for patients and families, offering education and emotional support throughout the care continuum
• Maintain accurate charting and documentation in compliance with facility protocols and legal requirements
• Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and ethical standards at all times
