An experienced SICU/CVICU registered nurse is needed for a travel position in Lodi, CA. This role requires a highly skilled RN with a minimum of three years of full-time critical care experience, including recent hands-on care recovering fresh hearts directly from the OR within the last six months. Candidates must be proficient with open-heart patient management and have completed all MyJourney Cerner modules prior to assignment start.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active California RN license
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in SICU/CVICU with open-heart recovery
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (CCRN preferred)
- Cerner EMR proficiency (all MyJourney modules completed)
- Experience managing complex cardiovascular and cardiothoracic patients (TAVR, Impella, IABP, STEMI, sepsis, etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high acuity ICU environment with flexibility for floating as needed
Location: Situated in the heart of California, Lodi offers a warm community atmosphere with nearby outdoor attractions such as vineyards and parks, ideal for relaxation when off-duty. The city blends small-town charm with easy access to larger metropolitan areas.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert nursing care to a 10-bed SICU/CVICU unit with 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-patient ratios
- Monitor patients using Phillips tele and specialized ventilators (Draeger, Hamilton G5, Galileo)
- Collaborate with intensivists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy teams onsite 24/7
- Adhere to unit protocols including scrubs color standards and on-call floating assignments
- Serve weekend rotations every other weekend and major holidays as scheduled
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- No self-scheduling; time-off requests must be submitted before contract start
Additional Details:
- Charge nurse coverage 24/7; nurse aides support unit operations
- Orientation includes one shift with preceptor support
- High acuity patient populations requiring advanced cardiac care skills
