• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), with a demonstrated ability to care for fresh heart surgery patients
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Comfortable utilizing EPIC for all charting and documentation
• Must meet the 75-mile radius requirement
• Prior experience with typical patient diagnoses including cardiac surgery recovery, cardiogenic shock, and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA)
• Thorough understanding of evidence-based critical care

Primary Duties:

• Deliver direct nursing care to post-op cardiac surgery patients in a 6-bed CTICU
• Monitor hemodynamic status closely and intervene rapidly in emergencies
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Administer complex cardiac medications, manage advanced life support equipment, and perform thorough clinical assessments
• Ensure complete and timely charting in EPIC
• Educate patients and families on the recovery process and post-discharge self-care
