Registered Nurse - CVICU (Cardiovascular ICU) in Oneida, NY

Experienced and dedicated Registered Nurses with a background in Cardiothoracic Intensive Care are sought for a contract position caring for high-acuity patients in a dynamic environment. This role is ideal for professionals comfortable managing complex cases in a CTICU setting, particularly those with experience handling fresh post-operative heart patients.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active RN license with at least 2 years of recent experience in a Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CVICU/CTICU)
• Proven competency in managing post-cardiac surgery patients, including fresh hearts
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Familiarity and proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
• Must adhere to a 75-mile radius rule
• Strong critical-thinking, assessment, and communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care for a 6-bed CTICU, focusing on patients with cardiovascular surgeries, cardiogenic shock, and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
• Work closely with cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and interdisciplinary teams to monitor patient progress and provide evidence-based care
• Monitor hemodynamic status, titrate vasoactive medications, and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition
• Safely manage and assess invasive lines and advanced support devices
• Document care and interventions with accuracy using EPIC
• Contribute to a collaborative and supportive ICU environment
