(RN) Registered Nurse - CVICU | Oneida, New York

The unit regularly manages cases including CV surgery, cardiogenic shock, and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, seeking nurses with proven experience alongside fresh postoperative hearts.

Required Schedule/Hours:

• Contract position
• Must meet 75-mile radius rule

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years’ CVICU experience
• Recent hands-on experience caring for fresh postoperative cardiothoracic surgical patients
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
• Familiarity with complex cardiovascular cases, including care of patients with cardiogenic shock and AAA

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care for critically ill patients recovering from major cardiac procedures
• Monitor, assess, and document ongoing patient status using EPIC
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams for optimal post-operative patient outcomes
• Provide expert-level assessment, intervention, and continuous cardiac monitoring
• Respond swiftly to patient changes, initiating evidence-based interventions
