Registered Nurse - CVICU (Cardiovascular ICU) in Oneida, NY

Opportunity available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiothoracic Intensive Care. This contract position requires expertise in caring for critically ill cardiac patients and offers a dynamic, supportive work environment.

Schedule/Hours:

• Contract position (specific shift details available during interview process)

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with at least 2 years of recent CVICU experience
• Cardiothoracic ICU experience with fresh hearts required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
• Must comply with 75-mile radius rule

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience caring for patients with complex cardiovascular surgical procedures, cardiogenic shock, and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA)
• Recent clinical work in a 6-bed CTICU or similar high-acuity setting

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care for patients recovering from major cardiovascular surgeries and acute events such as cardiogenic shock and AAA
• Monitor and assess patient status, responding to changes efficiently and communicating effectively with the multidisciplinary team
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, utilizing strong knowledge of cardiovascular pharmacology and interventions
• Operate and interpret advanced equipment commonly used in cardiothoracic intensive care
• Maintain accurate documentation with EPIC and uphold all standards of patient safety and quality care
