Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license (RN)
- Minimum of one year recent experience specifically in a CVICU or Cardiac ICU setting
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Strong assessment skills and ability to respond quickly in critical situations
- Proven proficiency with cardiovascular equipment and technology
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized nursing care to patients with severe cardiac conditions, including post-operative cardiac surgery patients and those requiring mechanical support
- Monitor, interpret, and document vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic parameters
- Administer critical medications, infusions, and titrate drips as prescribed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including cardiologists and respiratory therapists, to implement comprehensive care plans
- Respond to emergencies and perform life-saving interventions in accordance with clinical protocols
- Educate patients and families on procedures, post-care expectations, and recovery processes
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and ensure compliance with hospital policies
