Registered Nurse - CVICU (Cardiovascular ICU) in Rochester, IL

Schedule/Hours:

• Contract position with full-time hours

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Current and unrestricted RN license
• Recent experience working in a CVICU or similar high-acuity critical care setting
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Proficient in advanced cardiac life support protocols and hemodynamic monitoring
• Familiarity with care for patients requiring advanced cardiac support, such as intra-aortic balloon pumps or ventricular assist devices
• Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, patient-centered care for adults with complex cardiovascular conditions
• Monitor, analyze, and respond to changes in critical patient status
• Administer medications and manage complex equipment including ventilators and cardiac monitors
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes clearly and accurately
• Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals
• Support patients’ families with updates, education, and compassionate communication
