Registered Nurse - CVICU (Cardiovascular ICU) in Salisbury, NC

Take on a vital role delivering high-acuity cardiovascular care in a dynamic CVICU environment. This contract position requires an experienced RN with proven skills in critical care and cardiovascular intensive care. Your expertise will contribute to excellent patient outcomes in a setting renowned for its trauma, teaching, and cardiac care services.

Schedule:

• 12-hour night shifts (1845 - 0715)
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call
• 75% of holidays will be scheduled for travelers

Qualifications:

• Current RN license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience, preferably with cardiovascular focus
• Proficient in managing vasoactive medications, ventilators, chest tubes, surgical drains, invasive lines (including arterial, PA catheters, transvenous pacemakers), CRRT, and devices such as IABP and Impella (flexible on devices but strongly preferred)
• Experience with Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Phillips monitors
• Ready to float within the regional network to comparable units as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver skilled nursing care for critically ill cardiovascular patients, including those post-CT surgery and complex cardiac events
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, supported by 24/7 intensivists, respiratory therapists, IV/VAT team, and an available charge nurse
• Maintain vigilant patient monitoring, titrating therapies swiftly as patient conditions require
• Participate in department orientation and ongoing facility education to ensure compliance and proficiency
• Adhere to a professional work environment, including navy scrubs and maintaining standards across various units if required to float
