Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) Registered Nurse in San Antonio, TX

This critical care role provides complex and routine patient care for pediatric cardiac patients and allows you to apply advanced nursing skills in a supportive, high-acuity setting.

Schedule/Hours:

• Full-time, 7PM - 7AM
• Night shift

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• At least one year of experience in a critical care or CVICU setting preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations may be considered
• Previous pediatric cardiac experience (competence with chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, vasoactive infusions) required
• Attendance at New Nurse Orientation within 30 days of hire required
• Willingness to complete all onboarding, competency, and department-specific validations

Responsibilities:

• Deliver holistic nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) to critically ill pediatric cardiovascular patients
• Effectively address the complex psychological, emotional, and physiological needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments, monitoring for efficacy and side effects per established protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient history, medications, symptoms, and interventions
• Educate patients and families on care plans, treatments, and resources as appropriate
• Participate in competency validation and continual skills development
