Advance your nursing career in a dynamic cardiac intensive care environment, providing compassionate and skilled care to pediatric patients. This contract opportunity offers full-time, night shifts (7PM to 7AM), where you’ll play a vital role in a collaborative, patient-centered unit, supporting children with complex cardiac needs.
Schedule:
- Night shifts: 7 PM – 7 AM
- Full-time hours
Essential Qualifications:
- Active RN license valid in Texas or compact state
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA-approved)
- Minimum one year of recent experience in a critical care setting (pediatric cardiac experience strongly preferred: chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, vasoactive infusions)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- New graduates considered with strong clinical competency and willingness to learn
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage care for pediatric CVICU patients, utilizing advanced clinical skills and critical thinking
- Perform patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, monitor and adjust treatments
- Administer medications and interventions according to established protocols and monitor patient responses
- Address a broad range of psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs for patients and their families
- Maintain thorough documentation of all care, procedures, and patient responses
- Provide patient and family education, identifying resources and support as needed
- Precept new hires and participate in ongoing department competency validations
