Registered Nurse - CVICU (Cardiovascular ICU) in Springfield, IL

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or critical care experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; additional cardiovascular certifications a plus
• Proficiency in evidence-based practice, advanced cardiac monitoring, and ventilator management
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking abilities
• Adaptability to dynamic, high-acuity situations and comfort with interdisciplinary teamwork
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues

Schedule/Hours:

• Contract position (length discussed during interview process)
• Schedules may include various shifts; flexibility to accommodate coverage needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, complex care to critically ill cardiovascular patients, including post-surgical, heart failure, and acute coronary syndrome cases
• Perform continuous assessment of patient condition and adjust care plans accordingly
• Administer prescribed therapies, medications, and advanced interventions under physician direction
• Perform and interpret cardiac monitoring and respond promptly to changes in status
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and ancillary staff to coordinate comprehensive care
• Provide evidence-based education to patients and families regarding CVICU therapies and recovery processes
• Maintain meticulous documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
