(RN) Registered Nurse - CVICU | Utica, New York

A rewarding contract position is available for a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiothoracic Intensive Care. This CVICU role requires expertise in managing critically ill patients, focusing on those recovering from major cardiovascular surgeries and procedures. Schedule/Hours:

• Contract position with shift scheduling details available upon inquiry
• Adherence to a 75-mile radius rule for eligibility

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN license with at least 2 years of recent experience in a CVICU or CTICU setting
• Proven background caring for fresh post-op hearts in a cardiothoracic ICU
• Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and NIHSS (Stroke Scale)
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record systems

Unit Details:

• Cardiothoracic ICU with 6 beds
• Patient profiles include cardiovascular surgery recovery, cardiogenic shock, and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) cases

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-acuity nursing care to post-surgical cardiac and vascular patients
• Monitor and manage advanced hemodynamic support devices and interventions
• Implement post-operative protocols, recognize complications early, and respond to evolving patient care needs
• Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Chart seamlessly using EPIC and maintain thorough, accurate patient records
