Registered Nurse - CVICU - Utica, New York

A rewarding opportunity awaits experienced Registered Nurses specializing in Cardiothoracic Intensive Care. This contract position focuses on providing advanced care for patients in a CTICU environment, supporting complex cases such as post-cardiac surgery and cardiogenic shock. The unit features 6 dedicated CTICU beds, offering a dynamic setting to apply your expertise.

Schedule/Hours:

• Contract assignment
• Adherence to a 75-mile radius rule

Qualifications:

• Current RN license with a minimum of 2 years recent CVICU/CTICU experience
• Demonstrated experience with fresh post-cardiothoracic surgery patients
• Active certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records
• Strong knowledge of CV surgery, cardiogenic shock, abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) management, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized nursing care to critically ill cardiac and surgical patients
• Closely monitor hemodynamic status and respond rapidly to patient needs
• Collaborate with cardiovascular surgeons, intensivists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide patient and family education regarding recovery, treatments, and post-surgical care
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation using EPIC
• Adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols at all times
