Take on a vital nursing role in a dynamic Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit. This contract opportunity is suited for experienced Registered Nurses with a passion for high-acuity cardiac care and a strong background caring for fresh open-heart patients. Your clinical expertise will be instrumental in supporting cardiac surgery recoveries, managing patients with cardiogenic shock, and providing hands-on care in a focused 6-bed CTICU environment.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license and a minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU or CTICU nursing experience
  • Proven experience managing postoperative fresh heart patients
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (all required)
  • Proficiency using EPIC electronic medical records system
  • Thorough understanding of advanced cardiovascular surgical procedures and post-op patient needs
  • Must meet applicable compliance, including the 75-mile radius rule

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract assignment

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive critical care for cardiothoracic surgical patients, including those with cardiogenic shock and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA)
  • Continuously assess patient status; anticipate and respond swiftly to evolving cardiac emergencies
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care
  • Safeguard patient safety and maintain documentation in EPIC
  • Monitor and manage advanced life support equipment and invasive lines
  • Educate families and support holistic recovery for each patient
