A critical care nursing opportunity is available in West Valley City, UT, for experienced RNs with cardiovascular ICU expertise. This contract position involves working in a high-acuity ICU environment with a strong focus on cardiac care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide top-level nursing care to critically ill patients in a 24-bed ICU unit.
- Manage patient care with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, adjusting to 1:3 for PCU boarders and 1:1 for higher acuity cases including IABP, CRRT, and open-heart patients.
- Perform advanced ICU procedures such as rapid sequence intubations, central line placements, bronchoscopy, arterial line placement, chest tube placement, and ventilator management.
- Administer vasopressors and use restraints as necessary following ICU protocols.
- Utilize EPIC documentation system for detailed and accurate patient records.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including unit secretaries and tech staff during day shifts.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years ICU experience preferred; 1 year of strong ICU experience considered.
- Current Utah RN license required at submission.
- Proven cardiac nursing experience with competency in critical care procedures.
- ACLS certification mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as an outgoing team player.
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Straight night shifts or a 50/50 split schedule.
- Floating primarily to PCU or sitter roles throughout hospital inpatient units.
- Required to work approximately 3 weekend shifts within every 4-week period.
- Dress code includes Caribbean Blue scrubs.
