Deliver exceptional patient care in a dynamic cardiovascular operating room environment. This opportunity involves working in a large hospital facility with more than 1,000 beds and a 56-room operating suite, supporting high-acuity adult cardiac procedures in a Level 1 trauma setting.
Schedule:
- 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday (7:00 am to 7:00 pm)
- Schedule varies by unit needs; block scheduling is not available
- Call required for all travelers in cardiac surgery (three call layers in rotation, requirements vary every six weeks)
- Will work a minimum of 3 shifts per week; additional call coverage expected
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR OR and travel nursing experience required
- Proficient in both scrubbing and circulating for complex cardiac surgical cases
- Experience with adult patient population only; children’s OR is separate
- Comfortable floating between operating rooms within the same location
- Familiarity with procedures such as complex CABG, valve and repeat cardiac surgeries, heart/lung transplants, VAD, ECMO, PTE, and cardiac trauma
Responsibilities:
- Scrub and circulate for a variety of advanced cardiac surgical procedures
- Collaborate closely with surgeons and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Adhere to all hospital policies and safety protocols in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Ensure readiness and availability for on-call assignments, sometimes with short notice
- Provide compassionate care to adult patients with complex cardiovascular needs
