Step into an advanced cardiovascular operating room environment at a high-acuity facility, serving a diverse adult patient population with complex cardiac surgical needs. This contract role presents the opportunity to contribute your circulating and scrubbing expertise in cardiac cases within a large, multi-specialty operating suite.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
- Days may vary weekly due to unit needs; block scheduling is not available.
- Call requirements apply to all travelers (three layers of call, 24/7 coverage, requirements vary every 6 weeks).
- Must be available for orientation on upcoming dates: 6/29, 7/6, 7/13, 7/20, 7/27.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license with specialized experience in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).
- Minimum 2 years’ recent CVOR experience required.
- Recent travel nursing experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in both scrubbing and circulating cardiac surgical cases, including complex CABG, valve replacements, repeat procedures, heart/lung transplant, VAD, ECMO, and adult congenital cardiac care.
- Experience in Level 1 trauma center settings is advantageous.
- Demonstrated adaptability to float within operating room environments if needed (no floating to other locations).
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and collaborative skills in a multi-disciplinary surgical team.
- Must be willing and able to participate fully in required call schedules.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver cutting-edge intraoperative cardiovascular nursing care in a busy 56-operating room facility.
- Scrub and circulate on a broad spectrum of adult cardiac surgeries and emergent trauma cases.
- Support patient safety and positive outcomes by working closely with surgeons, perfusionists, and anesthesia teams.
- Maintain readiness to respond to emergent call-ins as part of a robust rotating call structure.
