Deliver specialized cardiac care as a Registered Nurse with a focus on Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing in this engaging contract opportunity. This role supports advanced cardiac and open-heart surgical teams by providing expert circulating and clinical support while collaborating with physicians and sterile processing colleagues.

Schedule:

  • Shift: 06:30 – 15:00

Required Qualifications:

  • Active California RN license from the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Valid AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals (AHA BLS Healthcare)
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent, relevant clinical RN experience in CVOR
  • Demonstrated expertise in open heart, circulating, and cardiac robotic procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in assessing and improving clinical competencies
  • Previous leadership or charge nurse experience
  • Experience with CVOR scrub duties
  • Strong physician relations and multidisciplinary communication skills
  • Familiarity with sterile processing collaboration

Key Responsibilities:

  • Circulate during cardiac and open-heart surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and continuously monitoring intraoperative needs
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists for smooth, efficient case flow
  • Serve as a liaison between the CVOR and sterile processing teams, advocating for high infection control and instrument integrity standards
  • Maintain clear, effective documentation and communication regarding patient care and procedural progress
  • Promote a safe, supportive, and precise operating room environment while addressing any emergent clinical issues with composure
