Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in a CVOR setting
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques
• Ability to remain focused and composed in high-pressure operative settings
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Scrub and circulate for a range of complex cardiovascular surgeries, ensuring adherence to safety protocols
• Prepare surgical suites, instruments, and equipment, verifying all are ready for specialized procedures
• Support surgeons and anesthesia teams with expert anticipation of needs throughout operative cases
• Monitor patient status intraoperatively, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary staff
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with established procedures
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and enforce infection control standards at all times
• Facilitate continuity of care and effective transitions between pre-op, intra-op, and post-op teams
