Travel CVOR Nurse in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Advance your nursing career in a dynamic Cardiovascular Operating Room environment, supporting complex procedures as a Registered Nurse. This contract position is ideal for a compassionate, skilled professional with recent acute CVOR experience who thrives in fast-paced surgical suites.

Schedule & Hours:

• Day shifts are staffed with 2 RNs and 2 Techs.
• Night shifts are on-call coverage.
• On-call is required approximately every other day and every other weekend.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid RN license and current certifications in ACLS and BLS.
• Minimum 2 years of recent, acute CVOR nursing experience.
• Solid proficiency with open heart instrumentation, TEE devices, ultrasound, and the Meditech documentation system.
• Experience assisting with procedures such as CABG, MVR, AVR, pacemaker insertions, laser lead extractions, thoracic and endovascular procedures, TVAR, and mitral clips.
• Prefer background in minimally invasive cardiac surgery.
• Previous travel experience and adaptability to high-volume, fast-paced surgical units are valued.
• Capable of providing lunch coverage in additional service lines, including vascular, robotics, general, ortho, neuro/spine, urology, podiatry, thoracic, and plastic surgery.

Role Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care before, during, and after cardiovascular surgeries.
• Ensure strict adherence to sterile techniques and surgical protocols.
• Prepare and maintain all necessary equipment, supplies, and medications.
• Accurately document all aspects of patient care and surgical progress within Meditech.
• Support specimen management and rigorous patient safety protocols.

Additional Information:

• Scrubs for OR/CVOR are provided and must be worn as per facility policy.
• Patient ratio is 2:1, supporting best outcomes in cardiovascular cases.
