Advance your nursing career in a dynamic, high-acuity environment by providing critical care as a Cardiovascular Operating Room RN. You’ll have the opportunity to support some of the most complex cardiac procedures in a Level 1 trauma center with a 1,000+ bed capacity, featuring a state-of-the-art 56-bed OR (inpatient and outpatient) and five procedural suites.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Schedule varies weekly based on unit needs (block schedules not available)
- Mandatory call required for all travelers in cardiac surgery (three call teams, 24/7 coverage; requirements adjust every six weeks)
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years' dedicated CVOR experience
- Must have at least 2 years of CVOR operating room experience specifically in scrubbing and circulating for cardiac surgeries
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency in both scrub and circulate roles for cardiac surgery required
- Experience serving adult patients; pediatric experience not required (Children’s Hospital OR handled separately)
- Flexibility to float between ORs as needed within the same facility
- Background caring for patients with complex CABG, valve/repeat cardiac procedures, heart failure, ECMO, VAD, cardiac transplant, PTE, cardiac trauma, and adult congenital heart conditions
Key Responsibilities:
- Scrub and circulate for adult cardiovascular and thoracic surgery cases
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation
- Respond confidently to urgent situations in a trauma-level setting
