Step into a dynamic cardiovascular operating room environment focused on advanced surgical care within a large, 1,000+ bed hospital featuring a state-of-the-art 56-bed OR suite and 5 additional procedural rooms. This contract RN opportunity specializes in high-acuity cardiac surgery and offers exposure to a diverse patient population, including complex CABG, valve, repeat cardiac procedures, heart failure, ECMO, VAD, transplants, PTE, cardiac trauma, and adult congenital cases. The role operates in a facility recognized as a Level 1 trauma center.

Schedule:

  • Orientation dates available: 6/29, 7/6, 7/13, 7/20, 7/27
  • 12-hour shifts, Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm (days of the week vary depending on department needs)
  • Additional call coverage required (three layers of call 24/7); call requirements vary every 6 weeks
  • Floating may occur within the OR but not between different locations

Qualifications:

  • Active RN licensure with 2+ years of CVOR operating room experience
  • Demonstrated experience in both scrubbing and circulating for adult cardiac surgeries
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Ability to manage adult patient cases (no pediatric/children's hospital assignments)
  • Proven competency in complex cardiac procedures (CABG, valve replacements, transplant, ECMO, VAD, etc.)
  • Willingness to participate in the required call rotation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care as a circulator and scrub nurse in CVOR cases
  • Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal surgical outcomes
  • Maintain high standards of safety, infection-control, and compliance within a Level 1 trauma setting
  • Adapt to varying weekly schedules and contribute to the overall flexibility of the perioperative team
