CVOR Registered Nurse - Operating Room (RN) - Gastonia, NC

This is a contract opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) care. Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), 36 hours per week
• Weekday and weekend call: 4–5 weeknight calls and 1–2 weekend calls per 6-week schedule
• Call requirements may also extend to holidays, according to a rotating schedule

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong knowledge of cardiac operating room protocols and procedures
• Ability to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary surgical team
• Exceptional critical thinking, assessment, and communication abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct perioperative nursing care to cardiovascular surgical patients
• Assist surgeons and anesthesia teams during cardiac and vascular surgical procedures
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment in a high-acuity OR setting
• Uphold strict aseptic technique and infection control protocols
• Provide patient education and support to families pre- and post-operatively
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and participate in handoffs for seamless patient transitions
