This is a contract opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) care. Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), 36 hours per week
- Weekday and weekend call: 4–5 weeknight calls and 1–2 weekend calls per 6-week schedule
- Call requirements may also extend to holidays, according to a rotating schedule
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR nursing experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong knowledge of cardiac operating room protocols and procedures
- Ability to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary surgical team
- Exceptional critical thinking, assessment, and communication abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct perioperative nursing care to cardiovascular surgical patients
- Assist surgeons and anesthesia teams during cardiac and vascular surgical procedures
- Operate and monitor specialized equipment in a high-acuity OR setting
- Uphold strict aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Provide patient education and support to families pre- and post-operatively
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and participate in handoffs for seamless patient transitions
