Apply NowExperience a dynamic environment in a distinguished cardiac surgical setting serving complex adult cases at a large, Level 1 trauma institution with a 56-bed OR and a robust cardiac program. Nurses with CVOR expertise will collaborate within an advanced team, rotating through challenging surgical cases that include CABG, valve replacements, heart and lung transplants, ECMO, VAD, PTE, and adult congenital procedures. This contract role offers exposure to highly specialized patient populations and leading-edge technologies.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
- Days will vary depending on unit needs; block scheduling is unavailable
- Required on-call duties, incorporating a multi-layer call system (24/7), cycling every 6 weeks
- Orientation dates available: 6/29, 7/6, 7/13, 7/20, or 7/27
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active RN license with at least 2 years of CVOR experience
- Previous travel nursing assignments required
- Proficiency in both scrubbing and circulating complex cardiac surgical cases
- Experience in a busy surgical setting, ideally with large-volume, high-acuity cardiac cases
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing clinical priorities and needs
- Willingness to float between operating rooms as needed (within the main OR areas)
Responsibilities:
- Scrub and circulate for a variety of adult cardiac cases, including advanced surgical procedures
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain readiness and responsiveness for frequent call shifts in the cardiac OR
- Deliver patient care in accordance with institutional policies and evidence-based standards
- Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and effective communication under pressure
