CVOR Registered Nurse - Operating room | Kansas City, Kansas

Experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurses are needed for a contract opportunity supporting surgical services in a dynamic hospital setting. This role focuses on delivering expert perioperative nursing care to cardiovascular surgical patients throughout all phases of operative procedures.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current RN license, active and unencumbered
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of two years of recent experience as a CVOR RN
• Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating cardiovascular procedures
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced environments

Schedule:

• Flexibility required to accommodate surgical schedules; details to be discussed during the interview process

Responsibilities:

• Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries
• Circulate and scrub on procedures, maintaining a sterile field and adhering to infection control standards
• Collaborate with surgeons, surgical technologists, and anesthesia providers to ensure safe and efficient surgical care
• Monitor and document patient status, adjust care as needed to respond to changing conditions
• Prepare, operate, and troubleshoot surgical equipment and supplies relevant to cardiovascular cases
• Maintain clear communication with surgical teams and patient families, offering updates and education as appropriate
• Assist in orientation and training of new or temporary staff as assigned
