CVOR Registered Nurse - Operating room | Middletown, Delaware

An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing. This contract position offers an excellent way to showcase your expertise in surgical patient care while supporting high-acuity cardiac procedures.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Current and unrestricted RN license
• Minimum of one year of recent CVOR nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred)
• Expertise in circulating and scrubbing for cardiovascular surgeries
• Strong knowledge of CVOR protocols and sterile technique
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary surgical team
• Excellent critical thinking and communication skills
• Experience with advanced surgical equipment and documentation systems

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive pre-, intra-, and postoperative care to cardiovascular surgical patients
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and allied health staff to ensure a safe operative environment
• Maintain strict adherence to sterile field and infection control protocols
• Prepare, assess, and monitor surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
• Participate actively in surgical timeouts, patient positioning, and wound care
• Document procedures, medication administration, and patient responses accurately
• Respond quickly to emergencies and unexpected situations within the CVOR
