Highly skilled RN professionals with Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) expertise are sought for a contract opportunity delivering advanced patient care. This position offers the chance to work within an engaging team environment dedicated to patient well-being, professional standards, and ongoing collaboration.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 5 shifts of 8 hours each week (40 hours weekly)
  • Holiday rotation as required
  • Every other weekend required
  • Must be willing to float to other units or hospitals as needed

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in nursing from an accredited program
  • Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or Compact RN license (Temp licenses not accepted)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or Red Cross
  • Minimum of 18 months experience, with at least 1 year of recent CVOR nursing experience
  • Ability to circulate in the CVOR and supervise LPNs, PCAs, and additional non-licensed staff
  • Strong communication, delegation, and leadership skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver compassionate care by upholding professional nursing standards
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct high-quality patient care for those undergoing cardiovascular procedures
  • Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families, fostering a positive care environment
  • Supervise and support members of the interdisciplinary team, including LPNs, PCAs, Ortho Techs, and other support roles
  • Maintain clinical competency and compliance with all hospital policies
  • Float to other departments or facilities as needed to provide coverage and maintain staffing requirements
